LIBERIA MAKES SECURITY GAINS AS PRESIDENT PLAYS STREET SOCCER

The president of the Republic of Liberia, H. E Dr. George Manneh Weah was spotted on yesterday November 29, 2020 playing soccer in the street with ordinary Liberians.

The soccer match was organized by the Monrovia City Government headed by Hon. Jefferson Tamba Koijee in commemoration of Liberia’s 18th president.

The match was in memory of former Liberian president William V. S. Tubman who led the country for twenty-seven (27) unbroken years. The match was played on Carey street which plays host to the country’s most renown intellectual center, the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinions (CEIO).

Unlike the unauthentic news about Liberia written by non-Liberians with little or no idea about the country’s gain, Liberia has made significant gains as it relates to security, peace and rule of law.

As evidence to the gain made, the president of Liberia His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah is usually spotted in places that you would never find an African president. He moves with very few cars with no heavy guns. He attends functions with organized by citizens like the recent Jimmy Smith Concert in Congo Town. The president has also been spotted in touring slum communities to access the severity of the conditions for possible remedy.

If you grew up in Africa or currently live in Africa, you will concord with us that African presidents travel with more security personnel and equipment than necessary.

From war tank, heavy guns, and heavily armed men to combat knife can be found in the escort of most African leaders.

The case is different with a country that experienced one of the longest and brutal wars in Africa, Liberia.

We urge all Liberians and Africans to keep the peace which is the recipe for economic growth and development.
